The archeological works made in wide range on the terrain, allow to make a statement, that the human settlements already existed here beetwen 4000-5000 years BC. Ceramics and tools from the Roman period had been found near the villages Karzec, Wymyslowo, Niepart and Rogowo. For the first time the name Krobia appeared in the bulla of pope Innocent II in 1136. Krobia as a city was found in 1286 by the prince Przemyslaw II. After four years Krobia belonged to Bishop Poznanski. The Krobia’s Market was set up on a base of turbine shape which excists until now. Only three cities in Great Poland (Kolo, Sroda Wielkopolska and Krobia) was built with this kind of geometrical plan. In 19th century Krobia became the capitol of district (powiat) in Southern Prussia. Under Krobia administration, were ten towns: Bojanowo, Dubin, Gostyn, Jutrosin, Krobia, Piaski, Poniec, Miejska Górka, Rawicz and Sarnowa. The railway, which was established around 1890 and good location between Poznan and Wroclaw helped to develop Krobia and the whole district. The territory of the Krobia district was occupied by Germany from 1793 till 1918 when Poland again became independent. Near the Poles lived here Germans and Jews. The Second World War started in Krobia on the 6th of September 1939. The Nazi army invaded the town. On Saturday - 21th of October fifteen inhabitants were executed. Since then every year this “black day” is commemorate in Krobia. In June 1990, the first time since 1939 people voted for fully independent local government.
